This year the Fruit Tree and Scion Exchange will be held at the Seed and Plant Exchange on March 28th at the Arcata Community Center from 11 am to 4 pm.
It’s time to prep your fruit wood for the upcoming 2020 Scion Exchange. Here are some guidelines and tips for collecting scion-
-Cut only past year’s growth (no wood older than one year).
-Store in plastic bag with moistened paper in the refrigerator.
-Asian /Japanese plums and pears sap can begin to flow and flowers early so cut within the next two weeks (early January).
-Apples and European pears and plums can be cut a week or so before the exchange.
